    I had been using GABA from kirkman. I take 500 mg at bedtime, it helps me fall asleep but it doesn’t help me stay sleep.
    By the way I have chronic insomnia.
    No to long ago a try picamilon by liftmode, 500mg as well, it doesn’t work for me as good as the kirkman gaba does, most nights it doesn’t even help me fall asleep.

    I’m using GABA 500. Is it possible that this supplement can cause itchy all over my skin and why? I also feel hot flushes, it that a common side effect? Should this side effects wear off and should I continue to use GABA.

    Have used GABA for some time now. I actually find 3g half an hour before bed is ideal. Any more and I do temporary shortness of breath 20 mins after ingestion. This can be quite distressing if I’m already in bed, and I have to get up and walk around. Under 2.5g and I feel the benefits on my sleep quality (time to fall asleep, depth of sleep and level of ‘freshness’ on waking up) are negligible. After about 3 months I stop using for a month. My sleep is not as good, but after 3-4 weeks I then start again on a 2-3 month cycle.

    So for me (85kgs fit male, 40yo) I find 2.5-3.0g before bedtime ideal.

    Based on my research I understand GABA has synergistic effects with the amino acids arginine, ornithine and lysine. So I plan on taking a special mix of these amino acids (I have researched the right ratios) with GABA in the near future just before bedtime as I have been doing.

    i use it to sleep. have radical chronic insomnia. the dosage is l/4 tsp (715 mg) of the powder.
    it’s part of a sleep cocktail that includes benadryl, “deep sleep” which i buy at whole foods & which contains poppy, valerian ,passionflower, chamomile, lemon balm,oat seed & orange peel & 10 mg. of time-release melatonin.
    the gaba is powerful & combines well with these other things.
